Betty’s wedding, with keepsakes from three generations

When Betty Roling married Greg Asbury at St. Joseph Catholic Church on August 20, 1977, she carried a little family history down the aisle. Escorted by her father, she wore her mother’s ivory satin wedding gown, an antique gold cross that had belonged to her paternal grandmother, and carried her maternal grandmother’s lace-edged handkerchief. Father Don Lammers performed the two o’clock ceremony.

Linda Roling was a bridesmaid, David Roling a groomsman, and Dan Roling an usher. Afterward, the guests gathered at the Knights of Columbus Hall for a reception with a four-tiered cake decorated with yellow roses. The newspaper said Betty and Greg would make their home in Sedalia, where Greg worked for Pat O’Connor Chevrolet.
