Family memories recall Joe taking his children to Bull Shoals Lake and the White River, sometimes joined by Frank Roling, Ben’s son and Johnny’s brother. Bob later took his own children, with stays over many years at Gaston’s Resort and dock and, later, Newlands trout dock in northern Arkansas.

Source: family recollection recorded in October 2026.
